Week one down

Week one was a success.  I started out with Jillian's 30 day shred but dropped off after a few days.  My weight didn't seem to be dropping at all so I fell back onto what I know works time and time again.  I got onto the elliptical and treadmill and put my time in.  Once I started burning those calories and doing a small amount of free weights I started to feel a difference in my body!   This morning was weigh in day and I lost 3 pounds!  I was more than excited.  My weekly goal is to be able to drop 2 pounds so this was even better.  I have started thinking a lot about what I eat and how I fuel my body.  I have decided that I am going to give my family a challenge of eating only unprocessed foods for one month.  Now if you know me then you know that giving up diet pepsi is almost impossible for me!  I am hoping by getting all of the sugars out of my diet that it will kick that nasty habit and I can start feeding my body with the things it needs to be in the best shape possible!  I will include for the month of March what I'm attempting to eat to kick those sugar cravings and get my family on the track to healthy eating!  I did find an amazing blog about eating unprocessed foods and I'm hoping it will help me stay on track!   Check it out if you are interested....http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/

Day Two...

I'll be honest....it was really difficult to get up this morning.  I had a moment of "I just want to close my eyes and go back to sleep until the kids get up."  BUT I got my butt up and out of bed and threw my sneakers on and ran.  I def didn't push myself like I should have but I ran for 20 mins.  I need to make sure that I challenge myself a little more each day.  After climbing off of the treadmill I DID NOT want to push play on that DVD.  I was already feeling sore from the first day of Jillian and was tired.  I will say that once I got started I was happy that I did it.  Yes I was sore but it felt good.  I still wasn't able to get through the entire thing without stopping but it will come.  As far as food goes I did pretty well.  On Tuesday nights I go to a dinner with my church and I don't know in advance what I will be eating.  SO I try to keep my weight watchers points pretty low so I'm "safe."  Well tonight it was mostly all vegetables and if you know me you know I am not a vegetable person.  I ate as much as I could and kept thinking to myself that I would NEED to stop at McDonalds on the way home to get something to eat.  By the time I was driving home I had decided that I would go straight home and have a healthy snack.  So here I sit drinking a diet pepsi and eating popcorn.  On to day three...

Day One...

Day one went pretty well.  I was able to get a 20 min run in at 4.2 speed and then completed Jillian's 30 day shred afterward.   I had Mark next to me the entire time laughing and pointing but I completed it!  I had to take a few second break during the jumping jacks but I know if I keep this up those jumping jacks will get easier and easier.  I followed my weight watcher points and decided to try to drink half of my body weight in water.  Well I did pretty well with my points...only went one over and I drank 50 of the 75 oz of water.  It was a start :).   I decided since I'm going to blog about this that I'm going to put it all out there and measure my body.  I'll update half way through and then again at the end.   Here it goes (keep in mind I just had two babies :)   Chest 39....Waist 34....Hips 42....Thigh 20....Arm 11.5.  Off to bed....the alarm is set for 5:30 so I can start day 2!

Jillian against Megan...30 days

Tomorrow I will start Jillians 30 day shred.  I plan on following my weight watchers points and completing her 30 day shred along with some running to prepare for the upcoming shamrock shuffle.  Today I'm starting at 149 pounds.  She claims that you can lose up to 20 pounds in the 30 days so I'm going to give it my best shot.  I will measure my body and also check for inches lost as well as blog about what Im eating.  By doing this I'm hopeful that I will stick to this plan!!
